Yesterday I dropped my puppy Jax off for surgery and as they took him away he looked at me with such sad eyes and looked so afraid it broke my heart and my eyes teared up and my heart clenched and I felt so bad leaving him. I have always had a weaker heart or an emotional heart I should say, and I am easily affected by everything around me and I feel and experience everything around me in such a deeper set way and that is why I love photojournalism because I can attempt to express what I feel and capture all these moments that compile ones life on this earth. Watching Jax’s sweet sad eyes made me reflect on the ties that bind a parent to their child, a lover to their soulmate, a sibling to their brother and sister, a friend to a friend, and those ties that make the world go around and around and is the beginning and ending of this life. The ties that are unseen, untouchable, and the strongest bond that connects the world together. The look on his face when I picked him up in the afternoon was worth the world to me… a look that recognized me as home and comfort and happiness and it was not one sided…
